PRIVATE BROWSER TOOL
Remove photo metadata locally
Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image. Your browser redraws and exports a new image without the original EXIF container data.
This inspector detects common EXIF, GPS, camera and container fields; it is not an exhaustive forensic scan. Cleaning exports only decoded pixels.
What this removes
Re-encoding drops ordinary EXIF and container metadata such as camera details and embedded GPS fields. It does not remove information visible in the pixels, watermarks, or anything you include in a filename.
Image tradeoffs
Re-encoding can change color, quality, transparency, and orientation. Animated images become a still frame. Inspect the result before sharing. The image stays in this browser.
Questions about this tool
Does the original image leave my browser?
Inspection and cleaning run locally. Only choosing Send Securely uploads the cleaned image, encrypted in the browser.
Does removing EXIF hide everything in a photo?
No. Visible faces, landmarks, text and watermarks remain in the pixels. Inspection detects common fields and is not an exhaustive forensic scan.
