Built for short conversations
A private chat room when you need one
Use a temporary private chat for quick coordination, a surprise plan, or a short project conversation. Create an accountless private room when you do not want to exchange profiles or phone numbers. Set a deadline for a disappearing chat room when the conversation does not need a permanent archive.
Expiry reduces how long the room stays accessible. It cannot stop a recipient from saving a message, so choose the invite channel and participants carefully.
Know what private means
Less to leave behind. Clear limits.
Vanish is an accountless, ephemeral chat: it does not ask for a name, email, or phone number. The service stores encrypted message payloads, room IDs, expiry information, and operational metadata. Expired live messages are cleaned up on a schedule; infrastructure logs and backups may last longer.
Anyone holding the invite can enter before a room locks. Recipients can copy or screenshot what they see. Vanish has not had an independent security audit and does not verify identities or provide forward secrecy. Read the security details, privacy information, and our invite-sharing checklist.

Frequently asked questions
Is this an anonymous private room?
You can chat without creating an account or profile. That does not make you fully anonymous: network information and what you reveal to others can still identify you.
Do disappearing messages vanish everywhere?
No. Room access stops at expiry and live data is later cleaned up. Other participants may have copied or captured messages, and provider logs or backups may remain longer.
Who can read my messages?
Messages are encrypted in your browser before upload. Anyone with the complete secret invite can join and decrypt them until expiry, so send it privately.
Can I extend or recover a room?
No. When a room expires, create a new room and share its new invite.
