A disappearing room with a clear deadline
Choose the room lifetime before inviting anyone, and see the same countdown.
Server-enforced expiry
The backend checks expiry for every request. Changing a device clock does not extend access. After the deadline, the room stops accepting messages.
Optional local hiding
You can hide messages on your screen after ten seconds. This display preference does not erase another participant copy or prevent screenshots.
Expiry and deletion are different
Access stops at the server deadline and scheduled cleanup removes expired live rows. Provider logs and backups can follow longer schedules, and participant devices may retain screenshots, clipboard history, or copied text.
Use expiry for data minimization
A deadline reduces routine persistence and how long an invite works. It does not make a high-consequence disclosure harmless.
Questions and answers
Does local hiding delete the server copy?
No. It only changes what that browser displays.
