VANISH PRIVATE CHAT GUIDE
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about temporary rooms, encryption, expiry, and the limits of private chat.
Do I need an account?
No. Vanish requires no registration, email, phone number, or profile.
Can Vanish read messages?
Message bodies are encrypted in your browser. The backend stores ciphertext and does not receive the invite encryption secret.
Can someone take a screenshot?
Yes. No web chat can reliably stop a recipient from copying, photographing, or screenshotting content.
Before you start
Do I need an account to create a room?
No. Create a free temporary room in your browser and share its complete secret invite directly.
Can recipients keep copies after expiry?
Yes. Room expiry stops access through Vanish, but it cannot erase screenshots or other copies made by recipients.
