VANISH PRIVATE CHAT GUIDE
A disposable chat for a short task
Create a room, share an invite privately, and let the server stop access after your chosen deadline.
A practical example
You are meeting a group for one evening. Create a one-day room, share its invite directly, and use it for arrival details. No one needs to install an app or exchange phone numbers. When the deadline passes, the room stops accepting requests.
How this differs from a permanent group chat
Vanish has no account directory, persistent group history, moderation system, or message recovery. That makes setup quick for a short task, but it also means you cannot verify a participant through a profile or retrieve a room later. Anyone with the complete invite can join before expiry.
What “disposable” actually means
The backend enforces the room deadline and later clears expired live data. It cannot erase screenshots, copied text, clipboard history, or records held by a recipient. Infrastructure logs and backups may remain longer. Use the timer to reduce routine persistence, not as a guarantee of total erasure.
Use the right channel
Send the full invite through a direct channel you trust. Avoid public posts and link shorteners, which can expose the secret link. If the link leaks, the creator can end the room for everyone and open a new room with a fresh invite.
Before you start
Do I need an account to create a room?
No. Create a free temporary room in your browser and share its complete secret invite directly.
Can recipients keep copies after expiry?
Yes. Room expiry stops access through Vanish, but it cannot erase screenshots or other copies made by recipients.
