Before sharing credentials in chat
Expiry and browser encryption reduce routine exposure, but they do not make a chat room a credential vault.
Use a dedicated secret manager
For API keys, production credentials, recovery codes, or seed phrases, use an audited secrets manager with identity checks, access logs, revocation, and rotation. Never put a wallet seed phrase in Vanish.
If a credential was sent
Assume a recipient or device may have copied it. Rotate or revoke the credential through its issuing service, and review who had access.
Before you start
Do I need an account to create a room?
No. Create a free temporary room in your browser and share its complete secret invite directly.
Can recipients keep copies after expiry?
Yes. Room expiry stops access through Vanish, but it cannot erase screenshots or other copies made by recipients.
